Some students have everything it takes: the discipline, the drive, the ability to go the distance. What they don’t always have is a circumstance that lets any of it matter. HungerPods Global Scholars exists to change that math, one student at a time.
Wherever they are
Circumstance doesn’t check passports, so neither do we. We are based in the United States, but the students who need this most are rarely the ones closest to us. So we go where a scholarship can be the entire difference between a finished education and an abandoned one.
Through our sister scholarship program, that work is already underway in North India, where local teams find the students who would otherwise be overlooked entirely. From there we intend to keep going, into the regions where school fees, exam costs, and one hard year still end an education quietly.
Geography decided where they started. It doesn’t get to decide where they end up.

A global initiative
We would rather do this properly in one region than thinly in ten. India is live now, with students already enrolled. The regions below are next, opened as local partners and funding allow.
Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand. Run with our sister program and its team on the ground.
50 scholars enrolledWhere a year of school fees can cost less than a month of a household’s income, and one shortfall ends it.
Partner search underwayExam and enrollment costs remain the most common reason a capable student stops before graduating.
Partner search underwayStudents who work alongside school and lose the degree they were closest to finishing.
Partner search underwayWe open a region only when we have a verified local partner who can meet the students, confirm the documents, and stay with them after the money arrives. Support that isn’t followed through isn’t support.
The scholarships
For students at real risk of leaving school early. Covers the basics, fees, books, supplies, so a hard year doesn’t become a closed door.
For students already proving themselves who need steady backing to see it all the way to graduation.
For exceptional students facing serious hardship. Full backing, because some circumstances need more than a partial fix.
The selection process
No shortcuts, no favorites. Every student is reviewed the same way, scored on the same scale, by people who’ve never met them.
A teacher, a local partner, a parent, sometimes the student themselves.
Our team checks the basics, the documents, the school, and the recommendation, so everything on the application actually holds up.
Every application is scored across the same four areas, by more than one reviewer.
Selected students are matched with a sponsor and a local point of contact who stays with them.
The students behind this
These students were selected through our sister program in India. Each of them had the ambition, the discipline, and the drive to go far. What they needed was support at the right time.
“I want to build AI tools for farmers in Punjab.”
“My family has never had a college graduate. I’ll be the first.”
“I want to bring fintech to tier-3 cities.”
“Technology is the great equaliser. I intend to prove it.”
Tuition and school fees, paid directly to verified schools. Books and supplies. Exam costs that quietly end education when nobody’s watching for them. And a local partner on the ground, checking in, so support doesn’t just get sent; it gets followed through.
HungerPods Global Scholars
Somewhere right now, a student is doing everything right and still might not make it to graduation. Not because they’re not good enough. Because nobody’s backing them yet.
